1. Core Architecture: 100% Local Processing (Offline-First)

Prosaic is engineered around absolute respect for author privacy, confidential research lore, and creative intellectual property:

• Local Storage: All writing projects, chapters, scenes, character dossiers, timelines, and worldbuilding notes are saved exclusively to your local device drive using an isolated SQLite database format within the Windows App SDK sandbox.
• Zero Cloud Servers: We do not host, store, replicate, or process your written text on any proprietary cloud servers. Sole authority, physical custody, and full copyright remain with you.

2. Information and Data Handling

• User Content: All story drafts, imported documents, reference imagery, and pacing metrics remain strictly on your machine and are never transmitted outwards.
• Personal Identification Data: Prosaic requires no user registration, email sign-in, login credentials, or phone numbers to unlock its complete functional suite.
• Diagnostics and Telemetry: Prosaic contains zero third-party advertising trackers or invasive analytics SDKs. Any aggregated, non-identifiable crash reporting is handled directly through the Microsoft Store framework, governed strictly by your personal Windows diagnostic settings.

3. Windows Operating System Permissions

Prosaic requests only the minimum OS capabilities required for standard desk writing and publishing operations:

File System Access: Invoked strictly when you trigger native Windows pickers (FileOpenPicker / FileSavePicker) to load existing projects, generate manual database backups, or export your work into EPUB 3, Amazon KDP Print-Ready PDF, Word .DOCX, or Markdown.

4. Licensing and Payment Processing

Financial transactions, the 7-day unrestricted trial, and perpetual lifetime licenses are verified and processed securely via the official Microsoft Store commerce system. Prosaic’s development team never receives, stores, or handles credit card numbers, billing addresses, or banking details.

5. Third-Party Data Sharing & Artificial Intelligence

Prosaic does not sell, rent, disclose, or trade your manuscripts or user habits with third-party vendors, data brokers, or advertising networks. Furthermore, we do not feed or scrape your text to train generative artificial intelligence or Large Language Models (LLMs).

6. Your Rights (GDPR & Global Data Autonomy)

Because your files reside strictly within your local environment, you maintain immediate, unconstrained rights to:

• Access, read, duplicate, or transfer project databases at any time.
• Export your completed book to open, vendor-neutral formats (.epub, .docx, .md).
• Permanently delete all project footprints simply by removing the local files or uninstalling the app from Windows.
